It’s tempting sometimes to want to give up on God in our times of distress and suffering. Because the way we see it, God can do anything, by just a click of his powerful fingers. And of course we feel that if we are believers and we’re righteous that God will solve our problems, right? Wrong! LOL I laugh as I write this, but I know that I shouldn’t, especially since I’ve been put through the wringer of life myself…a number of times.
Let me give you some hard truths about your almighty father. When he allows a difficult situation in your life, it is very often for a reason or sometimes multiple reasons. There is not a soul alive who will not suffer, regardless of their money, education or any other resource. But what you will realise about God, is that in your time of suffering, he does not leave you. He always makes provision for you.
And if you do the work, you’ll find that God has taken you from a situation that seemed desperate and hopeless, to a better circumstance. Like the Israelites, God takes us out of Egypt and brings us to the wilderness. Not an ideal situation but better than being in bondage and slavery, no? Not quite the land of milk and honey we hope for, but better than what we went through. From nowhere to now here.
Christians should be careful that they don’t miss the good work that God is doing in their lives, simply because it wasn’t what they hoped for. They run the very dangerous risk of complaining and murmuring, which upsets God to no end. I don’t think I need to remind you of what God did to the moaning Israelites, do I? Phew!
Rather choose to rejoice and to believe that he’ll put you in a better circumstance. No doubting and no unsteadiness in your faith, and watch that divine right hand stretch forth and pluck you out of your struggle and take you to your promised land.
