Advancing God's Kingdom
Nowhere to Now Here. I think many of us Christians can attest of how God can take us out of a situation that is dire and hopeless and place us in a position that is once again filled with hope and promise. The title of this post comes from a sermon by Bishop Dale C. Bronner and one that I can completely relate to.
When God says that he can do exceedingly above all we asked or dream of, we best believe it. Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about. Imagine you find yourself in a place of unemployment, broke and in debt, where your resources have run out, you’re being judged by others because of it, and you’ve lost your once charismatic personality, optimism and hope. And you pray and ask God to help you out. You tell him that all you want is a job. And he comes through for you, over a period of time. He hears your prayers instantly but answers over a period of time…suddenly.
Before you know it, you’re back in the workforce, you’re saving up, you’re building back what you’ve lost and you suddenly have your dreams and goals back. You suddenly have a spring in your step and you’re once again able to give generously of your time and money to others. Next thing you know you’re making investments and building a nest egg. It might not be millions but you’re back in the game. God has taken you from nowhere to now here. And he has done exceedingly and abundantly above all you could ask for. Remember all you asked for was a job, right? And look at you now…
When you were hopeless, broke, unemployed and judged harshly by others, you didn’t think you’d be in the place where you are right now. The place where you’re at right now, might not be without its challenges but if you change your perspective, you’ll see the hand of God working wonderfully in your life.
I dare you to think of a situation you were in, where God has taken you from nowhere to now here and share it in the comments.
And all he asks for, is obedience. I think that is a small price to pay, for all he has done for us and what he can do through us.
God is love.
Stay blessed…
